Jap is short for Japanese Pumpkin or Kabocha as it is known in Japan. There are many different varieties such as Kent. It has Grey-Green skin mottled with yellow and brown. It is a nutty flavoured pumpkin with a yellowish/orange flesh that is soft and drier than most. Having a sweeter taste than most varieties it is ideal for roasting, boiling, steaming and stir-frying.
